Education Advisor-Blended Learning

Purpose of the function

The ambition of VVOB is to ensure learners around the world enjoy their fundamental human right to quality education, without exception. As Education Advisor, you contribute to this ambition and these values by being the key person for instructional design of content and facilitation of INCREASE blended learning. You provide technical support to VVOB and VVOB’s governmental partners in Kenya.
The Education advisor Blended learning reports to the Country Programmes Manager. You are part of the Program department and work closely with your direct education and M&E, research colleagues. Furthermore, you work closely with the different departments in your country, especially communication and operations teams.

You will:

Offer technical advice, guidance, and support to VVOB colleagues and to the operational government partner to realise educational change processes in the domain of instructional design of content and facilitation of blended learning.
Contribute to the identification, formulation, budgeting, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the project, especially for your result areas.
Assume variety of roles in capacity development processes according to the needs of the partner in the domain of blended learning and facilitation and particular situations and phases of the programme.
Keep abreast with policy trends, new developments and latest research and thinking in blended learning and facilitation in general, and in an international context by external and internal networking and share new insights with partners and VVOB colleagues.

Required expertise and experience

Master’s degree in education, human sciences, or other relevant field or equivalent experience.
Expertise and experience with the instructional professional development of school leaders or teachers through interactive and engaging training and facilitation.
Familiar with the competency-based curriculum reform and its implementation.
Knowledge of and experience with project cycle management.
Experience with working with government partner and/or capacity development of educational partners.
Fluent in English
