About the role
Burn is looking for an NPD Project Manager who will be responsible for reviewing the feasibility of projects and ensuring projects are in line with organizational strategic plans.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Own and oversee NPD grant projects from conception to completion.
Meet with clients, grant donors and relevant parties to provide regular updates on project progress, including milestones achieved, challenges encountered, and any potential risks identified.
Documenting project plans and project timelines, ensuring projects are completed as required.
Track project budgets and report regularly to senior management on project costs.
Liaise with product managers, operations, procurement, and logistics teams, legal, market research teams and other stakeholders to ensure objectives are met.
Collaborate with product managers and design engineers to ensure the effective implementation and execution of stage gate processes.
Coordinate stage gate meetings to ensure compliance and document control.
Provide accurate project information and lead project meetings as required.
Record and circulate key learnings, decisions, action points and signoffs from internal team meetings.
Responsible for post-meeting follow-through and progress reporting to Product Managers and other stakeholders.
Proactively seek ways to improve project timelines.
Assist with communication and follow-up with local and international suppliers, from initial inquiries, and sample sourcing to technical discussions as required by the team.
Perform other related duties as required.
Skills and Experience:
Experience with project management/coordination support to a senior leader.
Experience in R&D is an added advantage.
Proficient in project management software such as Microsoft Projects, Smartsheet, Asana, and Jira.
Experience in developing and managing project budgets.
Able to manage a high volume of work by balancing priorities and managing expectations.
Impeccable attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and deal with confidential information.
Background in Mechanical engineering or any related field.
Advanced certification in business administration, project management, executive support, etc. is an added advantage.
