Competency Manager

Job Summary:

The Competency Manager’s main responsibility is to contribute to the optimization of the Competence Development Process by managing the training operations, analysing competence needs and designing learning solutions, to ensure that the business goals and employee needs and expectations are met.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:
To perform this role successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, following defined standards and guidelines. These duties include, but are not limited to:

Lead and manage training operations – Ensure there is a clear structure to define, implement and follow up Competence activities decided in the Business Plan.
Lead, motivate and manage the team to deliver high-quality results – Coach staff on a regular basis tailored to individual needs, and focused on improving competence used in their daily work.
Analyze competence needs – Identify, consolidate and prioritise short and long term competence development needs based on current business plans and market strategies, as well as individual development plans.
Design learning solutions – Create local learning portfolios.
Create a learning culture – Promote, influence and support a high impact learning culture and practice in the organization.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (Bachelor of Education is preferred)
Professional qualifications in HR e.g. IHRM, CIPD, Training Needs Analysis, Instructional Design and Techniques, Coaching
At least 5 years’ experience in talent management, learning and development, performance management and coaching
Stakeholder management skills
Entrepreneurial and strategic business mindset
Strong leadership, planning and organizing skills
