Job Summary
The Nurse-Laboratory Technologist, reporting to the Department Chair of the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, will support laboratory activities related to teaching nurse students.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate and oversee laboratory procedures as per the nursing curriculum.
Provide guidance and supervision to students during practical sessions.
Maintain accurate records of laboratory activities relevant to the nursing program.
Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment necessary for nursing education.
Guide students in the use of automated equipment relevant to nursing practices.
Assist faculty in the preparation and analysis of nursing-specific laboratory tests.
Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of nursing-related laboratory instruments.
Develop and implement safety protocols specific to nursing laboratory practices
Collaborate with faculty to develop practical training modules for nursing students.
Participate in nursing program development and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited university.
Registration with the Nursing Council of Kenya.
Three (3) years of relevant experience in a similar role within a nursing education setting, demonstrating support for faculty and students in their practical learning endeavors.
