Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Administrative Officer, the incumbent will perform the following functions:

Serves as a focal point for coordination, monitoring, and expedition of data analysis activity.
Prepares data sets upon request, liaise with units to request for data and need for data.
Assist in extracting and monitoring Key Performance Indicators data metrics and report on them, when data show process under control or when out of control bounds.
Assist on follows-up on requests made by other team members and coordinates activities.
Assist to perform ongoing monitoring and refinement of reports.
Contributes to the identification and analysis of patterns in data sets using various methods.
Independently provides full range of data analysis assistance at all phases of a data analysis initiative, typically, a large and highly complex component of the departmental data analysis initiatives, seeking guidance only in exceptional circumstances.

Assist in identification of data sources.
Assist in creating data models/reports/dashboards that respond to data requirements in the division.
Assist in data validation from the models/reports/dashboards.
Contributes to the creation and maintenance of databases, contributes to data collection projects, products, tools, and processes to extend the capabilities of client offices.
Assist to develop tools to automate manual data extraction and analysis work as necessary.

Maintenance of reports and dashboards.

Assist to provide technical support for existing reports, dashboards, or other tools.
Assist to identify and analyzes errors and inconsistencies in data and provides timely resolutions.
assist in data management and document generation efficiency tools to streamline internal processes and increase productivity.

Prepares written report or Presentation related to data analysis activities.

Assist to translate data results into written reports, or presentations to convey information to management.
Assist to briefings/debriefings.

Provides guidance, training, and daily supervision to other general service staff in their area of responsibility.

Assists in drafting of agreements, documents, or meeting minutes.
Identifies and resolves diverse issues/problems as they arise and determines appropriate actions.
Coordinates extensively with other service units and liaises frequently with internal team members.

Train staff and perform other related duties as assigned.

Assists with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making.
Assists with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures.
Performs other related administrative duties, as required.

Education

Completion of secondary education/ high school diploma is required.
Supplementary training in advanced data analysis is required.

Work Experience

A minimum of ten (10) years work experience in data science, data analytics, applied mathematics, information management, data analytics, or related area is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced by two years for candidates who possess a first level University degree.
Experience in building monitoring and reporting solutions in Power BI or SAP Analytics is required.
Experience using Microsoft Office specifically Word and Excel; as well as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is required.
Two (2) years of experience in conference management related activities, preferably in the United Nations Common System or similar international organizations is desirable.
One (1) year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another United Nations Officials language is desirable.
