Functional Responsibilities:
Under the supervision and guidance of the UNOPS Communication Specialist in Brazil, the Communications Senior Assistant – Brand and Design will perform the following functions:
Support the construction of an appropriate narrative to the country; consistent with the UNOPS corporate communications policy.
Provide support, when required, in holding conferences, workshops, seminars and/or other activities identified within the office in order to present results and impacts for different publics, government counterparts, media and public opinion in the country.
Support the development of graphic and audiovisual communication and information materials adapted to the realities and communicative forms of the prioritized audiences, when required.
Support the UNOPS Communication Specialist in Brazil, when required, in generating and updating contents about the office and/or projects’ activities websites, newsletters and/or other channels.
Participate in meetings that are necessary to support the production of the materials.
When required, design graphic materials necessary for the implementation of the office and projects activities (brochures, presentations, infographics, fact sheets, presentations, reports, material for social networks or other channels), ensuring compliance with the UNOPS graphic guidelines (Branding Manual) and lined with the Strategic Communication Plan.
Support the Communications Specialist in the preparation of materials for printing.
Provide support, when required, to the Communications Specialist in the generation of content (photographs, infographics, pictograms, gifs and other types of graphic material).
Assist, when required, the Communications Specialist in the adaptation of data statistics to friendly graphic formats that can be shared and understood by a variety of audiences.
Provide support to the Communications Officer for the production/editing of photographs and videos.
Perform other functions related to visual and audiovisual identity that are required by Communications Specialist.
Education/Experience/Language requirements:
Education:
Secondary level diploma is mandatory.
Diplomas at a technical or bachelor’s level in Communications, Advertising, Graphic Design, Audiovisual Communication or relevant disciplines will be considered an asset and may substitute some of the required years of experience.
Professional use of one or more is required, preferably in design programs (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Premiere, Audition, After Effects, among others).
Experience:
Minimum experience of 5 years (or less, depending on credentials academics/education) of relevant and progressive experience in the field of graphic design, audiovisual communication and photography.
Additionally, experience in the following areas will be valued:
Work experience in social communication, communication for development or another related to communication with vulnerable populations and sectors.
It is mandatory to present a graphic design portfolio and/or examples of campaigns carried out.
Languages:
Fluency in Portuguese.
Intermediate level (oral and written) of English is required.
