Job Description
Claims Identification and Assessment:
Analyze project contracts, specifications, and documentation to identify potential claims and disputes.
Evaluate the impact of changes, variations, and delays on project costs and timelines.
Collaborate with project teams and contracts Administrator to gather necessary information for claims assessment.
Claims Management:
Lead the claims management process by compiling evidence, documentation, and data to support claims.
Prepare and submit well-structured and comprehensive claims to clients or relevant parties.
Engage in negotiations and discussions with stakeholders to resolve disputes and achieve fair settlements.
Risk Management:
Identify potential risks related to cost, schedule, and claims early in the project lifecycle.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to prevent or minimize the impact of claims.
Communication:
Foster clear and effective communication with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and project teams regarding claims and cost-related matters.
Provide expert advice on claims-related issues and potential resolutions.
Maintain accurate records of project changes, variations, and delays that could lead to claims.
Generate comprehensive reports detailing claims assessment, negotiations, and outcomes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a focus on claims management.
In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, contract law, and relevant industry standards
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience of having worked for a main contractor or consultancy
Exposure to large scale, complex construction projects
Familiarity with standard forms of contract such as FIDIC
Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
Proficient in relevant software for cost estimation, project management, and claims documentation.
Attention to detail.
