SENIOR ICT OFFICER REF: KSL/ HR08/2023 GRADE: KSL 5 1 POSITION
Overall purpose of the job

Reporting to the Director, the incumbent will be responsible for advising the School on information and communication technology needs and leveraging appropriate technology to effectively and efficiently deliver the ICT support services.

Job Description
The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail: –

Setting up, configuring and maintaining all the School of law servers, desktops, mobiles, hardware, systems and applications to ensure smooth flow of ICT operations.
Perform daily systems monitoring, verify integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing systems and applications logs and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups to ensure availability and efficiency of the systems.
Managing all Kenya School of Law backups for disaster recovery process to ensure continuity of operations.
Developing and maintaining IT documentation processes and procedures to ensure consistent and harmonious operations in the department.
Support in-house users on all aspects of ICT to ensure effective and efficient use of the systems.
Create, change and delete user accounts as per requests to ensure up to date user accounts.
Apply operating systems patches and upgrades on regular basis to enhance systems’ security.
Provide specifications for ICT equipment and systems to ensure conformance to user needs and standards.

Person Specification
To qualify for this position, the applicant must have: –

At least four (4) years relevant work experience in public or private sector.
Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science from a recognized Institution.
Certification in Programming, System Development and Administration, Networking, Cyber Security and System Audit.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
Demonstrated results in work performance.
Relevant professional qualification.
Membership to relevant professional body in good standing.
Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter six of the Constitution.
Attendance of a Supervisory Course lasting not less than two (2) weeks.
