Consultant Roster – Development Consultant Consultant Roster – Sector Specialists

Consultant Roster purpose and consultancy role

Instiglio aims to create a selective database of mission-driven consultants that our project teams can engage on a fixed-term, assignment-based contract basis to support project delivery across a number of sectors, project types, and countries. For this Roster, Instiglio currently seeks early to mid-career international development consultants, across a wide range of experiences and expertise, to contribute as Development Consultants for Instiglio’s growing portfolio.
As a Development Consultant at Instiglio, you will be an integral member of the wider Instiglio project team, composed of a Project Lead, Manager, and senior and junior consultants. You will be tasked to own or contribute to important project workstreams alongside your senior and junior consultant peers. This may include, for example, contributing to rigorous contextual analyses or knowledge products, supporting the design of RBF instruments, and guiding stakeholders through difficult, yet important, decisions by translating complex concepts into understandable insights. Responsibilities will vary from project to project but some key roles may entail the following:
Conduct literature reviews and synthesize findings.
Execute qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
Assess feasibility of RBF or other results-based approaches in a given context and/or contribute to analysis of RBF design options.
Develop reports or presentations to summarize analysis and present recommendations to clients and partners.
Prepare for and participate in key stakeholder engagements.

Consultant Roster and consultancy logistics
Shortlisted consultants will be incorporated into our Consultant Roster database and will be contacted on an as-needed basis over the next 24 months when project opportunities match their experience and skillset. Inclusion in the Consultant Roster does not represent a guarantee of a consultancy assignment with Instiglio, and consultancy assignments do not carry any expectation of further assignments or conversion to another type of contract with Instiglio. The specific terms of consultancy assignments will be dictated by the needs of a given Instiglio project, but key aspects of the arrangement include:

Contract type: Consultants engaged for a specific assignment will be contracted on a fixed-term basis
Location: The work location will be determined based on the specific project needs, particularly the project’s location and the location of the Instiglio team, with the potential for remote consultancy engagements on most of Instiglio’s projects.
Effort and duration: The effort and duration of the engagement will be determined based on the specific project needs with most projects ranging between 3-9 months and requiring consultants to be engaged anywhere from 1 – 5 days a week throughout the assignment.
Remuneration: Consultants’ remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills as well as the nature of the assignment in terms of the responsibilities and complexities of the assignment and the degree of expertise required. Payment will be based on completion of the hours and/or deliverables in the specific contract, subject to the approval of the Project Lead or Manager.
