Key Responsibilities include
Defining project scope, activities, and objectives, ensuring projects are implemented in line with GAIN’s project management standards, business plans, programme frameworks, and organizational strategic priorities and that projects are managed within the appropriate timelines and budget
Supporting the preparation of progress and donor reporting as well as high-quality, rigorous reports and other materials (presentations, briefs and articles), documenting experiences to communicate the performance of LSFF advocacy for wider dissemination and publication
Supporting national-level advocacy and communications relevant to LSFF, especially in countries where GAIN has a country office
Tracking LSFF commitments from the UN Food Systems Summit and other global fora, and supporting national alliance-building efforts for LSFF in Nigeria, Ethiopia, and India, as well as facilitating the advocacy collaboration between GAIN and the National Heart Foundation in Bangladesh
Deploying new research and reports for GAIN LSFF advocacy efforts; collaborating with partners and GAIN’s communications team to ensure that notable new findings or knowledge products are promoted and disseminated and to ensure that GAIN has a communications strategy in place for key global/national moments for LSFF
Ensuring active social media channels and strategic engagement and growth of GAIN’s mailing lists, in coordination with communications consultants and GAIN’s communications team
Supporting fundraising to support GAIN’s national and global-level LSFF work
About You
The ideal candidate will have professional stakeholder and project management experience working in public policy/advocacy/communications and with focus in the fields of nutrition or international development
Candidates’ will demonstrate the ability to think strategically and creatively about issues related to advocacy, coalition building, and public policy and will be skilled in the formulation and dissemination of policy analysis, strategy, and formal recommendations. Candidates’ with work experience in low to middle income countries and familiar with food fortification and public nutrition programming is preferrable.
The postholder will have experience in utilizing basic advocacy tools such as a power analysis, stakeholder analysis, SWOT analysis and theory of change and able to apply these tools to create strategies and action plans.
You will have excellent communication skills and be willing to work in multicultural and multi-lingual environments. You will be highly flexible and be willing to travel in-country and overseas when required. In addition to this, you will possess fluent written and spoken English, candidates with French language skills will be an additional asset.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in public policy, communications, journalism, public health or related field is required. Candidates’ will posess strong stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to work in an environment requiring collaboration with government, industries and international organisations.
About our Offer
The starting salary for each office is as follows, depending on experience:
Kenya: From KES 3,019,680 – KES 3,454,680 (gross) per annum
