Procurement Manager – FMCG

Job purpose:

Responsible for sourcing and procuring, identifying, selecting, and onboarding suppliers, ensuring stock availability based on sales requirements, and demand planning. Managing supplier relationships, optimizing margins, and leading negotiations to formulate optimal purchasing strategies.
N.B.: An assignment may form part of the selection process.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure Kasha obtains high-quality goods and services at the best possible prices to grow margins.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Evaluate supplier performance regularly and address any issues or non-compliance with contractual agreements.
Analyze costs and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings while maintaining the required quality standards.
Oversee and manage the creation, approval, and processing of purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to Kasha’s policies and procedures.
Collaborate with inventory and warehouse teams to manage stock levels efficiently, minimize excess inventory, and flag potential dead stock.
Risk management by identifying potential risks in procurement operations. Implement measures to mitigate them.
Review and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance, favorable terms, and timely renewals or terminations.
Ensure that procurement activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as the organization’s ethical standards and policies.
Continuously review and improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase overall effectiveness.
Stay up-to-date with market trends, price fluctuations, and industry developments that may impact procurement decisions.
Conduct supplier audits or assessments to evaluate their capabilities, financial stability, and compliance with applicable standards.

Role Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Have a proven high level of understanding and experience in procurement, supply chain, and last-mile delivery of consumer and pharmaceutical products. 3–7 years of experience.
In-depth knowledge of supply chain analytics and KPI measurement.
Hands-on experience using Microsoft Dynamics and Excel is a plus, as is an aptitude to learn new software and systems.
Exceptional analytical and strong time-management skills.
