"CURE Kenya: Africa’s premier pediatric orthopedic teaching hospital."
Established in 1998 through a partnership between CURE International and the African Inland Church, AIC-CURE International Hospital in Hijab, Kenya, marked a milestone as CURE’s inaugural medical facility and Africa’s first orthopedic pediatric teaching hospital dedicated to children with disabilities. The 30-bed facility specializes in treating a broad spectrum of orthopedic conditions, including club foot, burn contractures, osteomyelitis, and both congenital and acquired deformities. In addition to on-site care, the hospital mobilizes outreach programs to identify children in underserved regions, facilitate their treatment at the facility, and ensure ongoing post-surgical follow-up.
Situated in the Rift Valley city of Hijab, the hospital serves patients from across Kenya. By equipping surgeons, nurses, and healthcare practitioners with advanced skills, CURE Kenya enhances the nation’s capacity to deliver specialized care for children with disabilities.
