External Engagement Coordinator – Health & Nutrition

Key Responsibilities:

As a goal the External Engagement Coordinator – Health and Nutrition will ensure that the HN sector is efficiently represented externally, maximising WVI reputation.  The EE Coordinator will provide coordination and functional support for the team external engagement strategy and implementation, inclusive of annual strategy development, management, monitoring and reporting.  The External Engagement Coordinator – Health and Nutrition will develop content in support of engagements, as well as manage some partner engagements themselves.  The External Engagement Coordinator – Health and Nutrition will support multiple external event engagements annually, including the coordination of stakeholders, strategy development, session development, administration and reporting.  The EE Coordinator will monitor engagement opportunities and advise the team and support responsive actions.  In support of engagement activities the EE Coordinator will lead development of appropriate communications content.  The External Engagement Coordinator – Health and Nutrition will ensure that all external reporting requirements are delivered in an effective and timely manner. 

Coordinate global external partner engagements.

Develop and manage EE monitoring database
Monitor prioritized partner websites/communications for significant events and a brief team
Ensure that key WV publications are featured on partner communications sites
Represent WV in a number of strategic partner engagements
Coordinate internal WHO stakeholders to routinely monitor and assess donor engagement, and monitor our joint work plan
Develop and manage a clear measurement framework for EE activities

Coordinate global external event engagements.

Develop annual/multi-year external event map
Manage prioritized event planning processes, including strategy development, stakeholder consultations, session concept development, logistics, and administration
Manage communications in coordination with  WVI Communications on appropriate social media development and implementation
Manage event reporting

Coordinate annual external engagement strategy development.

Lead team in review of annual EE priorities
Collate and document team objectives
Develop appropriate advocacy tactics

Support position statement development and communications.

Conduct literature reviews in support of prioritized position statement development
Lead key message development as needed for representation and engagement
Lead social media content development
Lead on the expansion of social media presence.

Manage external engagement and internal and external reporting requirements.

Manage routine annual partner reporting requirements, such as to the WHO, Every Woman Every Child, and Nutrition for Growth, where WV has stated commitments

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Minimum 7-year experience in a position supporting international external engagement functions and/or advocacy
Masters degree in global health or similar public health/nutrition field, and/or public policy
Ability to work from home
Ability to travel up to 15%
English language 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

Familiarity with major global and national health and nutrition organizations
Established global health and nutrition network
Event coordination
Communications
Global-level advocacy
Experience with online meeting technologies 
French and Spanish are preferable
