BACKGROUND
The Bible Societies (BSs) [Botswana, Gambia, Lesotho, Sudan, South Sudan, Zimbabwe, Chad, DRC, Guinea, Niger, Mali and Senegal] in the cluster want to collaborate among themselves, to share
financial and operational challenges, to leverage on key resources and expertise, to share the competences in ordering and distribution of Bibles, with benefits of economies of scale and build a
bond with resourcing Bible Societies to meet their audience’s needs. They have identified Scripture supply as a vital component of the mission, they want to improve their action to meet the need for Bible translation in the local languages and orally, to embrace digital as the future, to promote Bible engagement and to pursue mission sustainability through Scripture sales and fundraising.
JOB SUMMARY
In summary, the Shared Service Hub Coordinator will oversee and assist Bible Societies in the financial management and analysis as well as the supply chain management.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The position would include the following activities:
Assist Bible Societies with the following supply chain planning activities:
Gather, review, and analyze distribution and inventory data needed for the quarterly planning process
Conduct quarterly ABC inventory composition and SKU portfolio analysis
Develop and implement plans to reduce excessive slow-moving and aged inventory
Review and optimize system generated demand forecasts developed by the UBS SCM consultant using GMDH Streamline – demand review, development demand plan
Review and optimize system generated requirement calculations and replenishment plans developed by the UBS SCM consultant using GMDH Streamline – supply review, development supply plan.
Review and analyze financial implications of demand and supply plan – financial review, development cash flow forecast
Collaborate with the UBS Supply Chain Management Consultant and the Financial Account
Manager for Africa in the following activities:
Implement Integrated Supply Chain Planning and GMH Streamline in Bible Societies
Implement coordinated and collaborative supply and replenishment planning strategy for the respective language groups to reduce lead times and achieve production economies of scale
Improve the quality of the financial and accounting functions in BS;
Anticipate and respond adequately to requests for information
Improve the cluster’s Bible Societies global performance.
Improve transparency, accountability and donor’s confidence
Collect financial information from Bibles Societies reports and accounts
Analyse financial data
Prepare financial summaries and cash projections
Prepare business plans
Prepare KPIs and financial report to BS, GMT and donors
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Experience
Excellent knowledge of Bible Societies environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills both English and French.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and accounting softwares (Quickbooks, etc.)
A degree in Finance
At least five years related experience in a Consulting firm or in Bible Society at a Business Manager position
Ability for prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Flair for travels
Experience of operating in a multi-cultural environment with sensitivity to different world views and diverse contexts.
Committed to the mission and aims of the United Bible Societies and comfortable working in a Christian organisation with sensitivity to the breadth of church support that UBS enjoys.
Ability to work flexibly and willingness to travel occasionally – nationally and overseas.
Self-motivated, with enough personal confidence to be open to continuous learning and development.
Emotional intelligence and personal resilience, able to manage one’s own emotions and behaviours, particularly through times of change.
DIgital expertise e.g. Data Analytics, Working knowledge of the full Microsoft package.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (in English).
Desirable Skills and experience
Experience of working with global networked teams, and a track record in using all available communication tools in the context of a dispersed staff team.
Experience of using the Google suite of applications, Salesforce, LinkedIn and other social media channels.
