DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely delivering goods at various locations, including over long distances.
Planning the most efficient routes and delivering goods on time.
Performing tractor inspections before departure to ensure good running order.
Inventorying loads and documenting the condition of the goods before departure.
Assisting in the loading and unloading of goods, and obtaining the client’s signature on delivery.
Securing the goods in place before departure and monitoring its safe distribution throughout the trip.
Performing service checks on tire pressure, oil, and fluid levels, as well as minor repairs, when required.
Logging the hours driven, rest stop durations, distances covered, as well as all fuel, repair, and toll expenses.
Reporting any delays due to road conditions, accidents, or breakdowns to management.
Adhering to rules and regulations, including mandatory rest periods, weight restrictions, and weight adjustments.
KEY REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
The applicant must possess Valid PSV, valid good conduct and valid DL (class BCE D1, D2) and a Tractor stamp.
5-8 years’ work experience
Extensive knowledge of driving rules and regulations.
Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
Ability to work long hours including holidays and weekends.
Must be a safety-conscious person.
Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather condition etc.)
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Proper documentation of vehicle activities
