Education

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in medicine (MBChB / MMed / MPH) or in a related area is required.
A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
Must be Registered with Kenya Medical and Dental Practitioners Board.
A post-graduate diploma in infectious diseases is desirable. Proficient computer skills, particularly in MS Office software and use of databases, are required.
Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.

Work Experience

A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in the medical field or related area is required.
At least two (2) years of work experience in Accident and Emergency Unit, or Intensive Care Unit or Aeronautical medicine is desirable. Experience in managing infectious disease is desirable.
Experience in occupational health and safety at the work place setting is desirable. Experience in Counseling and/or stress management is desirable.
1 year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English and Kiswahili or Swahili is required. “NOTE: “fluency equals a rating of “fluent” in all four areas (read, write, speak, understand) and ” Knowledge of” equals a rating of ” confident” in two of the four areas.
