Key Priorities
Lead and strengthen TJNAs strategic planning, coordinating and evaluating planned priorities.
Enhance TJNA’s positioning globally as a renowned champion of tax justice advocacy in Africa.
Strengthen and expand their vibrant member network by cultivating strategic partnerships and enhancing key stakeholder relations.
Manage structural and transitional changes as envisioned for the organization.
As primary face of the organization, promote their good standing reputation and public relations within the continent and internationally.
Spearhead funding and resource mobilization initiatives.
In this role, your responsibilities fall within the following areas:
Strategic Leadership – Provide inspirational strategic leadership and direction to deliver on the organization’s mission and vision. Develop, implement and supervise plans that are consistent with TJNA’s mission while ensuring viability and sustainability.
Organizational Leadership – Inspire, engage and lead TJNAs staff on the strategic direction of the organization. Manage organizational resources including human and financial aspects, develop organizational capacities, shape and guide organizational transformations, promote staff engagement wellbeing and enrich the organizational culture.
Funding and Fiscal Managemen t- Develop and manage fundraising and financial strategies of the organization including relationship management with key donors, foundations and other potential funding sources.
External Engagements and Relations – As the external face of the organization, promote TJNA’s public relations with utmost diplomacy and engagement; expanding our programs, profile and position within Africa and beyond.
Partnerships and Stakeholder Management – Expand TJNA’s thriving network, cultivate long-term strategic partnerships to meet the organization’s objectives.
Governance – Accountable to the board, reports the financial, operational and programmatic position of the organization. Ensures the organization is operating within compliance of local laws and regulatory bodies. Conducts to the highest ethical standards possible.
Requirements
Qualifications
Masters in development studies, sociology, political science, international relations, business administration or relevant discipline/field.
Understands Africa’s development varied contexts, tax economies and systems, the terrain of CSOs, builds strategic relationships.
Core Skills And Experience
8-10 years with a minimum of 8 years in an executive leadership role with a strategic focus, at a not-for-profit/NGO. Engagements with board members, government officials and other stakeholders at a continental and global level.
Strategic foresight with a successful track record in the development, delivery and implementation of strategies and change management.
Proven technical experience within the tax niche and understanding of African economies, passionate about advocating for tax justice in Africa.
Experience building strategic partnerships and influencing stakeholders to support organizational objectives in regards to fundraising and marketing.
Experience managing high-level budgets, excellent analytic skills with an understanding of finance-related performance standards.
Experience developing, managing, engaging remote teams and stakeholders relations.
Entrepreneurial mindset, with innovative approach to business planning.
Exceptional communication and public-speaking skills with an aptitude for diplomacy, in English and French;
High emotional intelligence to network and engage with stakeholders, policy makers to advance the campaign for tax justice, social justice, fight against illicit financial flows, etc, at regional, continental and international levels and of diverse cultural backgrounds.
