About the role
The Business Development Manager will be accountable for delivering the quarterly and annual Health sales targets (IYR and ACV/TCV) and performance (EBIT/EBITDA) across all Mezzanine supported sales channels; and be responsible for securing future revenue aligned with company growth targets (3 year view).
The Business Development Manager will implement sales growth and go-to-market strategies that are country, segment and industry specific. The individual will support all Vodacom, Vodafone and non-telco sales channels to develop a best-in-class go-to-market approach, team structure and setup. Aligned with the strategy, the Business Development Manager will support onboarding nominated sales channels, negotiate commercials and contracts, and support, mature and manage the performance of channels.
The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of the health industry, with a particular focus on health system reforms using technology. The individual will have excellent presentation skills and will be comfortable in professional discussions and complex solution sales negotiations with 3rd parties on C-Level. The individual will be target driven and tenacious in closing deals.
Requirements
5+ years’ relevant experience in successful complex ICT proposition sales, including infrastructure, software and services
A degree in commerce or any other relevant degree
Sub-Saharan Africa work experience in an ICT solutions environment and proven track record in working with multinational corporates with matrix organisations
Excellent presentation, elicitation, negotiation, and communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
Ability to build and lead effective sales teams and cross-functional teams in a high-growth sector
High proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Advantageous
Experience in the ICT4D, digital health, telecommunication, digital, enterprise software or ICT industry
