Senior Institutional Partnership Advisor World Bank

Role and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the position is to provide support to prioritised Country Offices in pursuing partnership opportunities with the World Bank. The position will advise senior management across NRC in developing its engagement with the World Bank, with a focus on the World Bank’s work in fragile states and with refugees. The position will be the NRC focal point for expertise on the World Bank and its relations with NRC. The position is expected to contribute to establishing new operational partnerships with World Bank either directly or as a sub-contractor. 
Specific Responsibilities;

Lead, manage, and develop NRC engagement with the World Bank, with a focus on operational partnership opportunities;
Identify and develop World Bank partnership opportunities for NRC and communicate them to relevant regional and country office and technical staff;
Provide strategic partnership support to country programme teams engaging or seeking to engage with the World Bank, including through dedicated visits to regional and country offices to advance the dialogue and develop opportunities;
Engage with World Bank staff to identify programme priorities related to forced displacement and fragile states, and position NRC as a resource and potential partner to implement these programmes;
Develop and maintain relationships with key constituencies within NRC on World Bank priorities and NRC’s progress in building a partnership with the Bank, including the Senior Management Group and the management teams of Field Operations and PnP;
Engage with UN agencies, such as UNICEF and UNHCR, to explore opportunities for joint engagement and/ or sub-contracting vis-à-vis the World Bank.
Explore engagement with Regional Development Banks. 

Competencies
Professional competencies

Advanced degree in a relevant field, such as public policy and humanitarian affairs;
Minimum of 7 years of relevant documented advisory level experience 
Ability to analyse complex situations related to forced displacement;
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Fluency in English and at least one other relevant language
Experience working with The World Bank 

Context related skills, knowledge and experience: 

Knowledge of the World Bank and how it operates, especially in fragile states and states hosting large numbers of refugees;
Documented/proven results related to the position’s responsibilities, particularly in negotiating and/ or managing World Bank or other large commercial contracts including elements related to compliance and risk management; 
Knowledge of humanitarian operations, policy and principles, preferably gained through direct experience in conflict-affected countries;
Knowledge of the humanitarian system and prior experience working or liaising with operational UN agencies and non-governmental organizations;
