Manager – Immunization Supply Chain

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Waste Management (30%): VillageReach has implemented high volume sites or vaccinodromes in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Cote d’Ivoire. Work collaboratively with donors and technical partners to develop and disseminate waste management best practices and learning from COVID-19 vaccines and identify applications for routine immunization.
Vaccine Forecasting (25%): Provide technical support in vaccine forecasting and inventory management. Working in collaboration with other technical partners to operationalize the Forecasting Toolbox at the country-level and build on best practices from other health areas. Improve visibility into supply chain indicators and data and enable national and subnational working groups review and incorporate this data into decision-making. Provide technical support on implementing key elements of the forecasting toolbox in specific countries and pressure testing specific tools within the Forecasting Toolbox, and working with stakeholders in specific countries to customize the tools to meet specific country needs.
Cold Chain (30%): Create protocols for data collection and analytics to marry temperature data and maintenance fixes to link and correlate in order to improve cold chain maintenance and continuous improvement. Work collaboratively with immunization technical partners to develop protocols for collecting data from remote temperature monitoring devices (RTMDs), work with cold chain technicians to determine what the data is revealing of maintenance requirements – both preventive and corrective – validate findings, develop a how-to guide for temperature data and health equipment.
Program Management (15%):
Working closely with the Immunization Lead to share learnings and tools from the Immunization Supply Chain Steering Committee (iSC2) with the VillageReach supply chain community of practice
Participate in external Immunization Supply Chain (iSC) technical working groups, and report back takeaways to Immunization Lead, Immunization Advisory Group, and Country Teams. Collate feedback from VillageReach country offices to share globally, as requested
Inform global practices and policies through developing a robust evidence base, insightful analytical perspective, and practical lessons-learned from projects undertaken by the Supply Chain Global Technical Team. Develop relationships with key stakeholders in the public health supply chain and establish yourself as a respected and trusted advisor on supply chain issues. Working with the Senior Manager Supply Chain, coordinate activities for the supply chain community of practice (CoP) including sharing lessons learned, planning of group activities, knowledge and information management, scheduling of meetings, development of meeting agenda and tracking and CoP objectives against targets.

REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in supply chain management, public health, international development, business or related field.
Minimum 5 years work experience working in immunization supply chains in low resource settings within public or private sector.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of immunization supply chain, required
Demonstrated leadership qualities, depth and breadth of technical, management expertise for complex programs in resource-constrained countries;
Demonstrated experience interacting and collaborating with government agencies, country governments, technical partners and donors; excellent networking and partnership building skills
Excellent planning and prioritization skills as well as creative problem-solving and analytical skills;
Experience working on Effective Vaccine Management (EVM), cold chain equipment, waste management and forecasting, preferred
Experience working across time zones and with geographically distributed teams
Readiness to travel in-country 30% of the time

Experience living in and/or working in a low-income country a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Teams) and comfortable in a fast-paced technical environment.
Fluency in English and French required; fluency in Portuguese is a bonus
