Responsibilities
Develop and execute product strategies to meet the needs of the market and drive revenue growth.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and launch new products and features.
Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and trends in the financial technology space.
Define product requirements and user stories, ensuring they align with business goals and customer needs.
Build business models to show the expected uptake and profit contribution of new products.
Build the commercial framework suitable for the local market for new products and services.
Provide product knowledge and materials to support sales teams in taking these to market.
Work with Marketing to build suitable programs to assist introduction of new products to market.
Work with Shared Technology and Operations to ensure that products are delivered within timeframe and the relevant processes and procedures are in place.
Assess the potential of new and existing markets, considering statistics and expenditures, and make recommendations to management.
Track competitor activities and develop appropriate strategies to protect and enhance the company’s market share.
Build and maintain contacts and relationships with industry players, interest groups, and stakeholders within and outside Kenya to enhance and strengthen Interswitch’s market position.
Empower and guide subordinates towards the achievement of business targets.
Key Performance Metrics:
Overall organization growth level.
Growth levels of new products.
Number of products developed and implemented within agreed period.
Cost-effectiveness of products.
Market performance of new products.
Number of enhanced products and performance implications.
Timeliness, quality & comprehensiveness of market reviews and research.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or related field.
Relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in product management, preferably in the financial technology space.
Proven track record of successfully launching and managing products from ideation to launch.
Strong business acumen and ability to develop and execute product strategies that align with business goals.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and manage a small team of product managers and designers.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and user feedback to drive product innovation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Experience with agile development methodologies and project management tools such as JIRA or Trello.
