Quality Coordinator Maintenance

Brief Description        
To ensure regulatoryrequirements are upheld and that constant maintenance quality standards andorganization quality procedures are applied to Kenya Airways aircraft to theend that an airworthy, reliable, quality product is provided and that this isdone in a cost-effective manner. Also responsible to maintain an independentQuality System and facilitating compliance monitoring.
Detailed Description        

Conducts planned and ad-hoc audits/inspections/spotchecks/surveys individually or under guidance of Safety and Quality Manager ofall maintenance activities carried out for KQ and provide written reports.
Assess the data gathered during theseaudits/inspections/spot checks/surveys and communicate any discrepancies inwriting to responsible managers. These will be in the form of a formal reportdetailing any findings, which must be addressed with corrective action and thetime frame in which it must be achieved.
Follow up and verify audit closure actions. Monitorthe effectiveness of any corrective action from the feedback and by directsurveillance.
Prepare applications to the Authority and collectrequired data for Certificate of Airworthiness, Certificate of Registration andradio license certificates issue/renewal.
Review of aircraft airworthiness status by ensuringmaintenance program, reliability program and EDTO procedures are adhered to.
Review and where applicable processing of extensionrequests for maintenance program and MEL items.
Prepare Maintenance Quality Airworthinessstatistics as required.
Provide data to manager Maintenance Safety &Quality (AOC) on quality matters as required.
Prepare and maintain data base for maintenanceapprovals for contracted maintenance organizations providing maintenanceservices to KQ Aircraft and Components. Recommend and initiate the renewalprocess.
Process and avail aircraft and relateddocumentation/certificates.
Carry out any other duties within the AOCMaintenance Section so desired by the Manager.

Job Requirements        

Bachelor’sdegree/Diploma in Aeronautical /Mechanical /Electrical / ElectronicsEngineering or related course.
Knowledge inusing standard aircraft manuals and engineering procedures manual.
Conversant withall relevant regulatory requirements.
Basic knowledgeof basic aircraft systems.
Must havecompleted KQ graduate engineer trainee program/equivalent  OR Must have relevant engineering degree withat least 3 years  aviation engineeringexperience; OR Must have Diploma in relevant Engineering field with at least 5years aviation maintenance experience.
Fullyconversant with relevant technical procedures
Basic Knowledgeof audit process and root cause analysis
Demonstratedexperience in report writing
Basic Knowledgeof Industrial Safety Standards
Conversant withrelevant IT Tools and Systems
