International Consultancy: Business Relationship Trainer for ICT Network Meeting

Scope of work

Goal and objective: Under the supervision of the UNICEF ESARO Regional Chief of ICT, the consultant will conduct a 1-day orientation session about Business Relationship Management for the participants of the ESAR ICT Network Meeting. The consultant will need several days to conduct preparations prior to the orientation session, including a couple of online meetings with the ESARO ICT team.
Provide details/reference to AWP areas covered: This consultancy links to Key Intervention “DX and Innovation governance and capacity building” in the ESARO ICT and Innovation 2023-2024 Annual Work Plan under Programme Effectiveness.
Activities and Tasks: The consultant will be expected to undertake the following tasks/activities to complete this assignment:
Plan and conduct online meetings with the ESARO ICT team prior to the 1-day orientation session to set expectations
Develop an agenda and materials for the orientation session, including practical exercises that the participants can use after the session.
Curate and compile learning resources and a BRM information pack of free and paid training resources that COs can opt into for additional learning opportunities
Conduct the orientation session in-person during the ICT Network Meeting in Nairobi, Kenya (likely to be on 25 April 2023)
Provide a final reporting package containing any materials developed for the session and a document with ideas of how the ESARO ICT team can support the continued BRM journey of the Country Office colleagues
Work relationships: The consultant will work under the supervision of the ESARO Regional Chief of ICT and in close collaboration with the following stakeholders:
(internal) Regional Technology for Development Business Analyst, who will provide guidance and feedback on the agenda and materials for the orientation session.
(internal) Regional Innovation Specialist, who will also provide guidance and feedback on the agenda and materials for the orientation session.
Outputs/Deliverables:

Desired Competencies, Technical Background And Experience

A post-graduate degree (eg. Master’s) in IT, engineering, economics, international development, business administration or a closely related field.
A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted instead of an Advanced University Degree.
Recognized experience as a trainer for Business Relationship Management; BRMP certification is preferred
Minimum of 10 years experience as an IT executive, including significant involvement in training/coaching/leadership of strategic capacity-building initiatives across an organization
Fluency in English is required.

Administrative issues

The consultant will be working remotely throughout the contract, except when required to travel and attend the ICT Network Meeting to conduct the orientation session in person. All travel will be by the most economical fare and reimbursement will be as per UNICEF policy.
The consultant should be available for calls with the UNICEF ESARO ICT team between 10 am and 4 pm Nairobi time.
The consultant/contractor is expected to be home-based with potential travel to Nairobi, Kenya depending on COVID-19 travel restrictions for which the UNICEF office would cover subsistence allowances and travel costs. If the consultant/contractor is required to quarantine while traveling, UNICEF will pay for the quarantine if not organized by the host country.
Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met before taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract.
