Role Description
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing and installing/configuration of KeNICs Systems and Networks, maintenance, security documentation, database management, and related infrastructure.
Main Duties/Key Accountabilities
Supports maintenance of network systems
Ensure backup processes are established and enforced in order to safeguard the business from data losses.
Builds and maintains documentation of all KeNIC systems and infrastructure.
Monitor system(s) performance, troubleshoot issues, and submit regular reports.
Research emerging technologies and give advice to internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Ensure systems; – uptime, digital security, and updates/upgrades to guarantee the efficiency of IT infrastructure.
Responsible for tracking maintenance schedules, configuration, and reliable operation of user systems, network servers, and virtualization.
Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures and policies
Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance
Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new upgrades of IT infrastructure.
Responsible for regular maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of user systems, network servers, and virtualization.
Support the senior systems administrator in the development of strategic technology initiatives.
Train internal and external stakeholders on existing and new technologies.
Explore emerging trends, analyze and give recommendations,
Perform any other duty as assigned by the supervisor.
Education and Experience
Degree in IT, computer science, or any other IT-related field
Minimum 5 years experience in a similar position.
Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) certification
Database management
Coding and scripting
ERP business system integration
Any other certification e.g. Cybersecurity is an added advantage.
