Senior Manager, Knowledge Leadership

Role specifics include;

Providing overall research leadership, ensuring the integration, continuous improvement complementarity input of research, evaluation and learning into GAIN’s programmes and projects in line with GAIN’s priorities and global best practices
Fostering engagement with research and other thematic leads in UN agencies and major donors on research related activities to ensure a smooth and appropriate collaboration, representing GAIN at global events and ensuring the skills and interest of consortium partners is appropriately utilized to achieve the KL teams programme goals
Overseeing the timely dissemination and collaboration with GAIN’s teams on the development of scopes of work, outlines, and peer review publications for all research products to ensure high standards for technical content
Contributing to GAIN influencing objectives through participation in committees, boards, advisory groups relevant to GAIN’s strategy
Leading and contributing to the development of proposals for new funding, including authoring text in partnership with the Development Office team
Providing overall leadership to KL projects and line managing a number of direct reports to ensure team synergy and high-quality technical project delivery in time and budget
Providing technical support to other programming areas as needed

About you

You will bring extensive implementation, research, and evaluation experience, with desirable experience in large scale food fortification or biofortification.
You will demonstrate a deep knowledge and a high level of strategic thinking in areas of research conceptualisation and design, ideally within nutrition and food systems relevant for GAIN’s programming areas, to support the advancement of the knowledge leadership programme. In addition to this, you will posess a strong track record in leading and developing people with exceptional influencing, networking, negotiation and advocacy skills.
Skills in quantitative research methods is essential to the role (i.e survey design, implementation, data analysis, survey management, budgeting, etc).
A PhD in nutrition, public health, or related field is required. Formal project management and leadership training would be a distinct advantage.
