Program Interns – 2 Positions

The Program Interns will provide technical and business development support to the selected enterprises within the program that are advancing solar energy for productive use in Kenya.
Roles and Responsibilities

Support in the development of documents for onboarding clients and maintaining a database with adequate client information.
Support in the provision of technical advisory, business advisory and financial analysis support to solar energy and PUSE enterprises.
Support development of market feasibility studies, product development, customer acquisition and revenue generation models.
Support the entrepreneurs to develop PUSE appliance/equipment catalogue, marketing and sales strategies that matches the power supply and clients’ business needs.
Support entrepreneurs in expanding their adoption and use of digital marketing platforms .
Support in Identifying business training needs for clients and develop user friendly and practical training modules to close the identified needs.
Support in research and development to seek new problem-solutions sets faced by solar energy and PUSE enterprises in financing new equipment purchase and business operations.
Assist in managing client portfolio feedback emails providing prompt feedback to queries regarding call for applications and service offering under the Program.
Support with the evaluation process for total applications received, sharing a final shortlist of eligible clients for consideration into the program.
Assist in mapping out due diligence visits for data verification prior to onboarding of the final clients.
Support in the planning, implementation of due diligence exercises for the various countries.
Support in planning and organizing of the mentorship bootcamps for the onboarded clients.
Provide updates as required by the Supervisor and participate in the monthly program debrief.
Any other duties as delegated by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

Degree in renewable energy, engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and an interest in environmental sustainability. Experience in providing technical/business development support to Renewable Energy / Cleantech enterprises.
Fluent in English and Swahili.
Proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Office applications.
Resides within Kenya.
