Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
To review patients before and after surgery on a regular basis in accordance with the plan of care made and inform the in charge of any issues or problems.
To cover theatre anaesthetic duties as assigned and to attend to emergencies when they occur.
To contribute to quality improvement; risk management initiatives and policy development so that the overall Anaesthesia Service is of the highest quality and reflective of best practice.
Appraise the benefit of surgery to the patient before they are operated on.
Plan for post-operative care and management of all patients destined for operation.
Manage the patients during the operation i.e. administer anaesthesia and monitor the patient during surgery.
Manage all the anaesthetic appliances and machines
Carry out resuscitation of patients and managing them thereafter.
QUALIFICATION
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree/ Diploma in clinical medicine and surgery from a recognized institution.
Must have a Higher Diploma in Anaesthesia from a recognized institution.
BLS and ACLS training is a MANDATORY.
Should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Anaesthetist.
Must have professional indemnity and a valid practicing license.
