Business Development Associate and Proposal Writer Program Manager- Implement

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Business Development Associate will take a lead role in running our tender processes, and managing, coordinating and writing successful business proposals in the field of social impact and international development. The Associate will work closely with the Dalberg Implement Management team to define sectors of interest and key impact and serve as the main custodian of the various portals through which bids and tenders are advertised.
Tasks and Responsibilities:

Successfully implement the development programs according to scope, budget, time, and quality.
Develop stakeholders’ engagement matrix and plan that will serve as a guide in identifying key partners for the success of programs and independence.
Co-create sessions with target communities, potential partners, and other stakeholders to better understand the stated strategic priorities and align on the interventions.
Design of critical processes and tools for implementation, such as M&E tools.
Consolidate, synthesize, and develop program strategies and Implementation plans.
Provide stakeholder engagement support and partnership brokering with key partners.
Support MEL activities to support continuous testing, iteration, and refinement of the implementation plan and the strategy of the program.
Support the management of the programs’ budget and leverage funding with other potential partners.
Provide coaching to the prospective custodian of programs to improve their capacity on issues related to Governance, Financial Management, Fundraising, and Sustainability Planning.
Support the sourcing of assistance and resources such as accounting, paralegal, strategy, networking, topical expertise, and other services as and when required.
Plan for programs’ internal resources including budgeting and staffing.
Build relationships with different stakeholders.
Identify and lead pursuit of business opportunities.
Mentor and coach team members.

Required qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications, Marketing, Public Policy, International Development or any other relevant field from a top university or the equivalent’s worth of work experience.
Successful track record managing the capture and proposal process and authoring of winning large, complex proposals.
Proven ability to develop original text and also to re-purpose and edit written materials.
Experience working in international development business development processes/tenders.
Exceptional ability to understand and communicate complex information, and to conceptualize and produce strong, clean and compelling written materials.
Demonstrated managerial, administrative, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
Demonstrated ability to identify priority actions and generate and complete work plans within short time frames.
Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work effectively in teams.
Must be innovative in problem solving and resourceful in finding information.
Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Attention to detail, accuracy and strong time management skills.
Ability to rapidly create text, spreadsheets, bios, qualifications and other types of documents to meet specific proposal requirements.
Experienced in formatting documents.
Strong proficiency with MS Office and collaboration products.

Preferred:

Experience in the following technical sectors: agriculture, energy, economic growth, financial inclusion, health, impact investing, education, democracy, rights and governance, and gender, among others.
Familiarity with public tendering processes and end to end management of proposals with USAID, United Nations and the World Bank Group among others.
