Finance Manager

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Finance Manager will be involved in the development and delivery of the financial strategies, which support the Sacco’s overall strategic goals and objectives. They will also provide support to the CEO, the Board, and the staff in providing efficient service to the Sacco members. 
Duties and Responsibilities

Manage and supervise the Finance Department team.
Generally, safeguard the integrity of the Society’s data and maintain proper books of accounts for the Sacco.
Ensure preparation of Sacco financial statements & reports on a regular basis and submit them to the Chief Executive Officer.
Ensure compliance with existing Sacco accounting policies, procedures, and International Accounting Standards.
Ensure all necessary Sacco accounts are reconciled at all times and coordinate to resolve any issues with the Stakeholders.
Ensure Sacco’s financial transactions are accurately recorded and updated at all times.
Ensure all statutory returns and payments are made on time.
Safeguard all assets of the Sacco.
Advise the CEO and Board of Directors on prudent financial management and investment undertaking by adopting sound financial policies for optimum utilization and returns.
Prepare and implement the finance department’s annual work plan.
Attend relevant Board Committee meetings and share management reports with the Board
To manage all aspects of the finance operations within the department
Ensure that a sound internal control system is in place to guard against accounting errors; ascertain completeness in records and safeguard the Sacco’s assets against avoidable losses.
Ensure adequate liquidity for the Sacco to meet all Sacco obligations when due.
Preparation, reviewing, monitoring, and managing budgets.
Ensuring implementation of audit recommendations within the agreed timelines.

Qualifications

A degree in Commerce / Business Administration with an ACCA/ CPA (K) and must be an ICPAK member in good standing.
At least 5 years experience in carrying out finance functions preferably in Cooperative movement 3 years of which should be in a managerial position.
