Qualifications
Interested candidates should have a minimum of a degree from a recognized university and have knowledge and experience of not less than 7 years in the following fields:-

Accounting/Audit/Finance
Economics
Security/Risk Management
Law
Management

Other Requirements
Members of the Audit Committee to:-

Have a good understanding of the County Governments operations, financial management and reporting or auditing;
Have a good understanding of the objects, principles and functions of the County Government of Meru:
Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution;
Members of professional bodies or Institutions, will be have an added advantage

NOTE

Members of the Audit Committee shall serve on part-time basis for a period of three years and shall be eligible for re-appointment for a further one term only.
The allowances payable to members of the Audit committee, being public officers shall be determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
A person shall not be qualified for appointment as a member of Audit committee if the persons:-
Is a past or present employee of County Government of Meru;
Have served as an employee or an agent of a business organization which has carried out any business with County Government of Meru for the last two years.
