The proposed Dedan Kimathi Comprehensive Cancer Management Centre will be a regional center and will operate with the primary goal of alleviating the cancer burden of the population living in Nyeri, Laikipia, Samburu, Isiolo, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Meru, Tharaka-Nthi, Embu, Nyandarua counties and beyond. It will also play a pivotal role in research on cancer and in the development expert human resource required for effective management of cancer in the country.
It will have modern and comprehensive facilities for;
Diagnostics: X-ray, mammography, ultrasound, 1.5T MRI; CT and PET-CT etc;
Oncoradiology: LINACs, brachytherapy equipment;
Surgery;
Chemotherapy;
Laboratories: hematology, autopsy, microbiology; and
Provision of in-patient and out-patient treatment

Over the years, the University has trained a number of staff in Hungary. Furthermore, the University has established a number of contacts in Hungary universities medical departments.
The University would like to make this knowledge and networks available to the applicants so as to enhance the chance of success of the applications.
