This position is responsible for protecting Pfizer’s assets throughout the assigned region. In addition to investigating a wide variety of threats to those assets – thefts, fraud, trafficking in counterfeit Pfizer products and other product integrity matters – supports and provides guidance to those with physical security responsibility across the region and, in collaboration with the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) and other Global Security colleagues.
Supports the management of crisis incidents that impact sites within the region. As an investigator and case manager, incumbent shall develop, implement, manage, and refine comprehensive strategies designed to identify security threats in today’s global marketplace, while facilitating a swift and effective organizational response in the event an incident or threat is discovered to have the potential to compromise patient safety or brand integrity. Will provide investigative support as needed to Compliance Investigations; Global Information Security; Employee Relations; Global Security’s Fraud and Physical Risk Mitigation groups, while working closely with Global Security’s Strategic Intelligence Group, and provide investigative support for other business needs as required. Will facilitate key business unit requests and cultivate internal partnerships with Global Security colleagues, business functions, business leaders including Country Cluster Leads, Site leaders, Site Security, and Information Security Officers to support all Global Security, Compliance, and Pfizer business in the region.
Will closely liaise with government, industry, investigative, and law enforcement professionals as it relates to Product Integrity and security matters.
The successful candidate should have solid knowledge of illicit trade and supply practices of pharmaceuticals in Africa, and demonstrable experience of the pharmaceutical or a similar industry, in order to identify and drive forward realistic avenues for increased access to quality medicines by African patients and protect public health.
Job Responsibilities

Manage investigations (counterfeits, diversion, theft, fraud, and other security matters) initiated through product complaints, law enforcement agency referrals and initiated internally through Global Security.
Develops sources of information, witnesses, and conducts investigations to disrupt transnational criminal activity involving the manufacturing and trafficking of fake Pfizer medicines and grey market products that pose a risk to patients, and resolves other investigative matters that impact Pfizer business activities in assigned region in coordination with the other GS colleagues and Security Director – Africa.
Coordinates investigations as appropriate with law enforcement agencies; monitors all investigations until a final disposition; and provide expert witness testimony to both domestic and foreign law enforcement proceedings.
Provides oversight of services of outside consultants operating in Africa to support investigations.
Responsible for case management of assigned investigative matters.
Maintains an excellent working relationship with all Pfizer business leaders including Country Presidents, Cluster Leads, Country Managers, Site leaders, Site Security, and Information Security Officers; as well as with all GS colleagues; and quickly develops a Pfizer Corporate and Regional leadership knowledge that is essential to their performance in the position.
Develops and investigates collateral matters from other GS Directorates as assigned by the Director – Africa and Regional Sr. Director.
Develop and present Product Integrity awareness training to law enforcement and government officials, and internal and external stakeholders in assigned region, regarding Pfizer products and anti-counterfeiting strategies, to protect Pfizer trademarks in the market. Conduct professional media interviews as appropriate.
Ensures the protection of Pfizer’s reputation through timely investigation and resolution of all related reports of criminal or potentially criminal activity as it impacts Pfizer.
Ensures security threats to the business are understood, assessed, and countered effectively and in coordination with the relevant GS counterpart/s. Works collaboratively with the relevant business units to achieve best practice and appropriate integration.
Provides investigational support to the Compliance Group in relation to internal integrity and FCPA enquiries, where necessary and appropriate. Experience with management of internal compliance investigations is desirable.
Foster, develop, and maintain professional relationships with law enforcement, regulatory and other government agencies necessary to effectively accomplish the role.
Supports risk mitigation efforts to protect colleagues, real and intellectual property, reputation, and the integrity of our medicines.
Operate at a senior level with the proven ability to work cross-functionally, influencing others at all levels. There will be a strong focus on working with the local Pfizer business operation, briefing Senior Management on security issues, both internal and external to the company, and providing accurate opinions and objective analyses for resolution.
Conduct due diligence and other background security investigations in accordance with Pfizer’s policies and local laws, using all legally available intelligence sources to verify the company always engages with legitimate and ethical business partners.
Provide budget oversight to ensure that security services provided in the EMEA region are cost effective.
