Key Responsibilities
Computation of reserves including IBNR, IBNER, Outstanding claims reserves, as input into management reports and for use in supervision of solvency
Performing continuous data accuracy assessments to ensure accurate and up to date data is used by the team.
Preparation of various underwriting reports i.e Quarterly claims analysis reports, calculating loss ratio per client to establish their performance prior to renewal together with the pricing and statistics team.
Supporting marketing team in Product development by identifying the consumer needs and developing required products and enhancements.
Initiate continuous review and enhancements of underwriting and valuation processes and manuals with reference to best practices in the line of business.
Education, Experience & Competencies
Holder of a degree in Actuarial Science or with a bias in Mathematics.
Possess at least 2 years relevant experience.
Must have passed at least six (6) actuarial professional papers.
Have a good understanding of the concepts of Medical and non-medical Insurance.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite and packages.
Knowledge in R programming or VBA, and use of any business intelligence tool will be an added advantage.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
