Accountant

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Our client is a leading manufacturer of high standard cleaning chemicals, servicing the hospitality, healthcare, transport, marine and other sectors is looking for Accountant to manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets.Accountant responsibilities include auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments and returns. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes.                                   
 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The accountant shall manage and improve client financial performance and accounting operations
managing accounting records, evaluating and managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations, liaising with external auditors for annual financial statements, overseeing accounting operations, analyzing financial data, monitoring expenditure, forecasting revenue, coordinating auditing processes, and ensuring accuracy of financial information.
The accountant will need to use strong analytical skills, exceptional problem-solving skills, have a flair for numbers, be highly organized.
The accountant will streamline our accounting functions and operations provide financial analysis and reports, train staff on business finance issues, promote regulatory compliance, and drive income generation.
The accountant will be expected to incorporate, in their reporting format for Daily, Weekly, Monthly and periodic reports the subheadings in the job description below, clearly outlining progress on work being done and ensure the reports bear reference to consolidated support documentation either as links e.g., google workspace docs/google drive docs, that may be in a separate email, clearly illustrating the accountant’s work plans and summaries.
Update and be conversant with changing trends or requirements in regards to any other taxes that may be required from time to time.
Diligently work to avoid exposing client to any financial risks and coordinate with management on any risks articulately and proactively.
Maintain a healthy working relationship with the KRA Account manager allocated to client to ensure quick resolving of any tax issues.
Set up a comprehensive and accurate filing system for all company generated documents Customer, raw materials, packaging, finished goods sold, yearly time-period should all be factored into the filing system.
Carry out any other accounting tasks as requested by the company directors

 QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree or Diploma in accounting, CPA or related field.
Minimum of 3 years’ Experience working as accountant.
MUST be proficient in QuickBooks software.
Articulate and professional communication skills.
Results driven individual
