Role Purpose
The role holder will support the implementation of IFRS 17 developments and changes on OFA, across multiple instances of production and UAT environments. Working knowledge in Oracle EBS 12.2.X architecture, installation, patching, cloning, backups & recovery, and performance tuning are required.
Main Responsibilities
IFRS 17 chart of accounts development in the OFA system for Life and Health business for Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania as guided by the regional IFRS 17 Finance Leads.
Implement any changes needed in the COA as guided by the regional IFRS 17 Finance Leads.
Aligning chart of accounts from the IFRS 17 engine to OFA chart of accounts across the region (both life and health) as guided by the regional IFRS 17 Finance Leads and perform review on daily basis and clear any emerging errors on a real time basis.
Mapping of chart of accounts from the IFRS 17 engine to OFA to facilitate parallel reporting for IFRS 17 and IFRS financials as guided by the regional IFRS 17 Finance Leads.
Development of IFRS 17 trial balance report in column format to support reporting per portfolio for life and health business for Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania Jubilee Insurance entities.
Lead the systems integration between the OFA system, policy administration systems and IFRS 17 engine till end of the IFRS 17 project as defined by the system vendor. Support the post implementation phase on a full-time basis.
Aligning gross written premium (GWP), commissions, reinsurance, reinsurance commissions, claims etc. reporting to be per portfolio (each line of business) for both life and health business across the region.
Conduct System Integration Testing (SIT) and provide UAT support as defined by the vendor to ensure integration between IFRS 17 engine, policy administration systems and OFA are functioning properly, and data integrity is preserved between modules and between integrated systems.
Creation and automation of IFRS 17 finance reports as defined by IFRS 17 finance leads for life and health for Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania reports in OFA system and ensure they are correct.
Implement the expense allocation automation on OFA as per the expenses allocation policy to enable reporting of expenses according to IFRS 17 per portfolio

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Software Engineering, Engineering, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or any other related quantitative field.
The Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) and Oracle Certified Master (OCM) will be an added advantage.
Relevant Experience
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Oracle applications (EBS Suite).
Working knowledge in Oracle EBS 12.X architecture, installation, patching, cloning, backups & recovery, and performance tuning.
Been actively involved in at least 3 end to end implementations of EBS suite – Functionally and Technically.
Experience in recovering application & database in case of any eventuality.
Proven experience (5+ years) writing complex integration paths and developing ETL processes.
Deep working experience of Oracle PLSql and SQL.
Development & coding design in parallelized/distributed environments, preferably in cloud environment (AWS / Azure) will be an added advantage.
Experience on working with EBS on cloud environment will be an added advantage.
