Reward Specialist

Purpose of Role:
The purpose of the role is to ensure the effective implementation of the Diageo’s reward & recognition programs. The role partners with stakeholders across the business, key amongst them being HR Directors, HR Business Partners, Talent Engagement and People Managers to deliver elements of our Total Reward agenda. The role will also act a subject matter expert (SME) in Africa for select reward Programmes or areas.

EABL operates in the East African context with different employment, retirement and taxation laws and regulations in each of the countries.
EABL has 4 distinct leadership teams that drive decisions at group and local business unit level: EABL Executive team, Serengeti Breweries Ltd Executive Team, Uganda Breweries Ltd Executive team, Kenya Breweries Ltd Executive Team.
In addition, Kenya is a hub for several regional (Africa) and Global functions such as supply and procurement, with distinct leadership teams.
This role is reports into and is part of the Global Market Rewards team and will work with other teams within the Global Reward function such as Executive Reward, Global Mobility, Global Shares and Global Pensions.

Leadership Responsibilities
The role takes a leading role in building an appreciation and an understanding of the Diageo Reward proposition for HR, People Manager and employees. The role does this through actively building reward capability, effective delivery of reward programs and effective rewards communication.
Top Accountabilities

To develop an annual reward communication and engagement plan in order to build reward capability that drives employee engagement and performance.
To provide insights vital for the development/review of a multi-year reward strategy and to drive improvements in our compensation and benefits processes & products in line with the global reward priorities.
To deliver experienced support across the key reward activities, which include but not limited to market data acquisition, benchmarking, off-cycle salary offers, job evaluation, total reward communications and the annual reward cycle.
To act as the key point of contact of our insured benefits 3rd party providers, ensuring effective delivery of services as per Service Level Agreements and in line with the global reward standards.
To provide inputs to the finance teams for people cost planning in line with the business strategy cycle.
To develop and monitor the annual EABL local reward budget.
To be the custodian for all local reward policies, contracts & documentation.
To be the first point of contact for HR Business Partners & Talent Engagement for business-as-usual queries, including policy interpretation

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required
Qualifications:

A university under-graduate degree in a business or social sciences field.
A post graduate HR diploma or relevant HR professional qualification is an added advantage.
A professional accounting or finance qualification is an added advantage.

Experience:
At least 5 years relevant experience in:

A related field such as payroll management, benefits management or HR shared service operations and management.
Change management.
Project management
