This is an entry level position in the University to this cadre and appointment is on permanent and pensionable terms or on a two (2) year renewable performance-based contract depending on age, citizenship and any other reason.
Academic Qualification
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication (with at least 2 year working experience in a teaching environment) or Bachelor’s degree in Education (with at least 2 year working experience in educational media)
Applicants with knowledge and understanding of current computer applications and production software and principles and practices of instructional design and educational media will have an added advantage
Experience
The candidate must have a minimum of two (2) years relevant working experience with proven integrity, independence, innovativeness and compliance to deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Liaise with academic staff to discuss timetables, material requirements and workplans
Keep record of all teaching and learning resources in the laboratory
Organize for maintenance and repair of equipments and laboratory resources
Support lecturers and students in class and laboratory sessions.
Provide technical advice to staff and students
Work with individual lecturers/students and support them in production of learning materials
Control usage of teaching and learning material in the microteaching laboratory.
Ensure that all health and safety procedures are understood and followed correctly
Coordinate work in the laboratory to ensure efficient use of equipment and materials
Ensure regular budgeting and procuring of resources
Ensure risk assessment is conducted
Ensure that the teaching laboratory is equipped with current technological innovations in education.
