Position Summary
Design and sewing of a garment.
Tailor Responsibilities:
Agreeing on a style and fabric with the customer
Working out how long it will take and the cost of producing the garment
Producing a pattern, either by hand or using computer aided design
Sewing garments
Fitting the garment and marking any alterations.
Creating a design (either by adapting an existing pattern or developing a new design)
Conducting market research to identify new trends, fabrics and techniques, and seeking design inspiration.
Creating garments according to design specifications and preferences.
Providing proper bills to the clients for the creation of garments.
Taking accurate measurements and making necessary calculations
Proper costing of material requirements.
Daily work records
Timesheet tracker for orders.
Cost tracker for BOQs
Workshop consumables tracker
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent certificate in this field.
Prior experience working as a Tailor, Custom Designer, or a related role.
Strong working knowledge of various fabrics and embroidery threads.
Proficiency in using different types of sewing machines.
Amazing hand-eye coordination abilities.
Exceptional ability to pay close attention to details.
Excellent sewing skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong organization and analytical skills.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Ability to work in a team or individually as and when required.
Ability to manage and handle multiple tasks.
Outstanding problem-solving skills.
