Head of Acquisition

About The Role
Your main responsibilities will be to grow the Jumia Food business in the local market through operational and strategic actions. You will directly manage your commercial team and oversee and manage key restaurant partner relationships, drive sales and execute marketing campaigns across all business models under Jumia Food.

Key Responsibilities

Developing and growing restaurants portfolio
Being responsible for Jumia Food activity’s topline (Commissions/orders/ acquisition process) performance
Driving overall top line and profitability development through sales and marketing campaigns to increase customer base
Managing contract negotiations with key partners and restaurants to drive sales and order volumes Initiating creative local marketing strategy discussions and user growth campaigns targeted both at the consumer and the restaurant partners
Building, managing, and coaching the key account management and sales team
Executing smart partnerships as well as overseeing their negotiation and execution
Always protecting and improving the customer and seller experience
Organizing key commercial events for Jumia Food
Building a very friendly user interface for our vendors and our customers by being deeply involved in all our Tech developments
Coordinating your commercial team with the other teams to ensure you have a strong monthly campaign to boost sales of your vendors (Marketing, Partnerships, Operations, Logistics)
Working with other functional heads to help scale our other cities through developing and sharing best practices
Scaling Jumia Food and relevant business lines to other cities
 

Job requirements:

Min 3-4+ years of experience across managing commercial teams or large projects,
Business management experience in operations, strategy, technology, business development, or running your own business
Effective project management – experience delivering on a multifaceted project with many stakeholders
Comfortable deep diving into data and providing commercial recommendations
Strong entrepreneurial and interpersonal skills
Strong management & leadership skills
Strong negotiation and networking skills
Ability to identify new business opportunities and partnerships to grow the top line of the business
Impeccable communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team
Capacity to challenge and improve processes
Ability to adapt with humility and resilience
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and competitive environment
