County Solicitor (Re-Advertisement) Deputy Director, Human Resource Management and Development

Duties and Responsibilities:

The County Solicitor shall be the Accounting Officer for the Legal Services Division and Principal
Assistant of the County Attorney in execution of the functions of the Legal Services.
The Specific duties will entail:
Develop and implement Strategic Plans and sector annual development plans;
iProvide strategic policy direction for effective service delivery;
Ensure effective and efficient utilization of the Division’s financial and non–financial resources including
management, control and reporting on financial information, material resources and facilities;
Implement policies and regulations;
Build human resource capacity by developing and implementing human resource plans for the
Division;
Responsible for efficient and effective service delivery to the County Service and public in general;
Shall negotiate, draft, vet and interpret documents and agreements for and on behalf of the County
Executive and its agencies or as delegated by the County Attorney;
Promote the realization of County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP):
Ensure compliance with the National Values and Principles of good governance as outlined in Articles
10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya; and
Shall perform any other function as may be necessary for the effective discharge of the duties and the
exercise of the powers of the County Solicitor.

Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a person should:

Be a Kenyan citizen;
Have at least five years’ experience as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya; and
Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity.
