Why We Are Hiring for this Role
We are scaling rapidly in product offerings and geographies as we aim to train 200, 000+ knowledge workers by the year 2030. In order to serve students, we need to maintain the quality of our Technical Mentors. Pod Leaders are responsible for coaching and developing the TMs within their pod. Pod Leaders are responsible for holding TMs accountable for delivering quality in the classroom while maintaining their technical development.
What you will do
Leadership:

Support in implementing a clear and purposeful learning environment for both students and technical mentors
Responsibility for delivery methods through the development of holistic and thematic approaches to training that meet the targeted learning outcomes of each product
Ensure no compromises against our Unique Selling Proposition and Brand Promise on matters of learning delivery as highlighted in our brand book
Participate in and give strategic input on new product development, yearly class enrollment targets, and accreditation attainment + maintenance

General Classroom Management:

Monitoring and evaluation of student progress and analysis of performance data against target baselines
Develop personalized intervention programs to meet the needs of students flagged as being a retention/academic risk
Develop and maintain a TM utilization schedule that aligns with yearly enrollment targets within a pod
Manage the TMs in their pod
Complete annual performance review
Able to handle staff and Pod team challenges independently
Delegates simple tasks effectively with minimal manager support
Manage the data tracking systems in your classes

Team Management:

Model good and ethical practice that is aligned with our company’s core values
Hold Classroom Pod members accountable for the quality of onboarding, training, and learning while providing support as needed
Monitor student feedback on TM effectiveness and course recommendation scores in line with set baselines to maintain a positive customer experience
Build quality assurance and data protection processes that ensure we have structured student information with high integrity that can feed into our classroom, local, and HQ dashboards with their pod
Keep abreast of new trends and best practices in the technology landscape that validate that our curriculum is up-to-date
Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and training skilled Technical Mentors and Senior Technical Mentors that can bring relevant industry experience to our students and training methods
Observe TM and Senior TMs during live instruction, labs, stand up and other aspects of the learning experience and provide feedback to improve or maintain quality
Lead weekly 1:1s with TMs in their pod
Observe TMs in their classroom and record observations
Review TMs using the competency framework
Act as a mentor and guide to TMs
Work on and propose Pod improvement technical and professional development projects by investing in the professional development of the staff they manage

Who You Are

3+ years in some type of instructional capacity
2-3+ years of experience in professional coding.
Experience in coaching others

Great interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and communicate with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds
Strong sense of how software developers grow and what excellence looks like
Strong attention to detail
Strong operational ability and demonstrated competence in organizing workstreams
