How do we build and grow Zipline so we can get every human in Kenya instant access to vital medical products?
This is the question that you’re going to be answering if you join the team at Zipline.
As the General Manager of Kenya operations, you will partner with other leaders at Zipline to hire our in-country team, business relationships with key external stakeholders, manage the business & its growth, and work with our partners in industries such as supply chain, public relations, logistics, engineering, and more. You’ll be deeply involved in explaining Zipline’s value to our government health systems customers, managing our relationships with stakeholders in the private and public sector, and expanding our footprint in Kenya.

What You’ll Do
Make fast, good CEO-level decisions in the face of incomplete information.
Persuasively explain Zipline’s impact to our customers and other stakeholders in the private and public sector.
Rapidly learn every detail of Zipline’s technology so that you can map out how to maximize Zipline’s impact in Kenya’s health sector.
Help integrate a new technology system into the Kenya healthcare supply chain and coordinate Zipline’s launch with powerful stakeholders.
Manage the P&L of the business to ensure it is experiencing healthy growth.
Play an active role in hiring new members of our team across various regions of Kenya.
Come up with new and creative ways to grow Zipline’s business and diversify our services in Kenya.
What You’ll Bring
At least 8 years of professional experience, with experience managing teams and programs.
Servant leadership. You are someone who is willing to jump on all sorts of projects, regardless of whether you’ve had experience doing something similar or not.
An extremely entrepreneurial drive, especially when it comes to creatively solving hard problems in an unstructured environment.
Excellent communication skills (verbal + writing) and ability to build strong relationships with internal business teams and external stakeholders.
The grit, resourcefulness, and resilience to thrive in novel, uncertain and constantly-changing environments.
A deep belief that access matters and that we can and will provide access to essential medical supplies for every person on the planet.
Eligibility to work in Kenya.
Ability to travel quite frequently (about 30%) between our different distribution centers and stakeholders around Kenya.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
