Job Description
At Lipa Later we are on a mission to build the most advanced financial services technology in order to bring significant value for our end users. Reporting to the Chief operating officer, the Head of Credit will be responsible for building and supervising a team of credit analysts.
The ideal candidate should have adequate knowledge of financial statements and any other related policies to collections and financing. This position requires excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills as well as being detailed oriented. Proven problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills are required to meet deadlines and prioritize work.
We are looking for someone with excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage people and build relationships
RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead, motivate and develop direct reports and is the escalation point for the team
Work with the team to ensure corporate benchmarks and targets are met
Hire and train new personnel as required
Establish credit limits for key accounts and review on a regular basis to verify compliance or potential risks and takes action accordingly
Recommend or make changes due to market or business needs
Examine financial transactions and credit history case by case (applications, statements, balance sheets, legal documents etc)
Complete ratio, trend and cash flow analysis and create projections
Deliver a multidimensional perspective on the investment outlook in an accessible and informative manner
Determine in depth the degree of risk regarding different products, clients and markets.
Carefully analyse data and produce clear and objective reports
Routinely monitor loans for compliance
Adhere to credit policy and guidelines
Monitor corporate portfolio asset quality on an ongoing basis
Develop credit-based strategies attuned to different risk portfolios and markets
Develop data-informed and tech-enabled strategies within the Organizations portfolio
Work cross-functionally within the organization to develop and enhance credit methodologies and strategies

Requirements

Proficiency in statistical packages and financial software
Up to date with legal, compliance and market risk-related issues
Ability to analyze cash flows, leverage, collateral and customer strength
Strong communication and presentation skills
Sound judgment
Innovation and creativity
Problem seeking and solving skills
Quick learning and adaptability to various dynamic scenarios
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint) intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting preferred or equivalent experience
Professional Credit & Collection or accounting designation

Bonus qualities

Background in Data science or Actuarial studies with experience in building functional credit models.
Previous relevant roles held in fintech-related companies
