Assistant Creative Designer

Job Purpose:

The Asst. Creative Designer will be responsible for creating Smart’s visual concepts, by hand or using computer software, to communicate Smart products and ideas that inspire, inform and captivate consumers.
He/she will be responsible to develop the overall layout and production design for advertisements, brochures, magazines, and corporate reports as well as events;-

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

He/she will work with the marketing and ICT teams to create various materials for advertising and brand visibility.
Develop product design concepts.
Create images that identify a product or convey a message in line with brand guidelines.
Ability to integrate technical and visual solutions into a design concept.
Understanding trends within the scope of the industry the company works in.
Ability to conceptualize visuals based on requirements.
Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand.
He/she will also handle the business’s website and social media pages providing up-to-date content and engagement with the business clients.
Design/update artwork for print material required e.g flyers, brochures, posters, newsletters, information packs etc.
Design artwork for Media/PR –billboards, newspaper articles etc.
Design regular content required for the website & social media pages such as mailshots, e-banners, landing pages, postings and updates.
Creating and editing video clips for publishing on website & social media pages.13.Maintain brand consistency throughout all marketing design projects
Generate ideas to portray concepts and advertise products/services
Building and maintaining an archive of all design assets
Be aware of emerging technologies in new media to ensure quality design output always
Submit regular reports that relate to all graphics design tasks upon completion and implementation
Takes a customer-driven approach to creating marketing and advertising material.

Qualifications:

Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine arts or related field.
IT Proficiency especially in design software and technologies (such as In Design, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop)
Must have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Creativity Personality: They will be responsible to invent new ideas for branding, advertising campaigns and marketing messages. He/She should understand design and smart copy and recognize fresh approaches to advertising.
Analytical Skills: Advertising and marketing and brand positioning are ever-evolving, the required candidate should be able to analyses trends, look at new data and keep up with the times.
Photography and photo editing skills
Digital marketing skills on online platforms is desirable
Digital illustration skills are a plus
Passion for visual design and learning new methods of designing for digital experiences
Decision-Making Skills: Ability to make quick decisions on final copy, final art, finished commercials and radio spots.
Quick learner with demonstrated product knowledge and professionalism.
Team player, with the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with customers and other service delivery functions.
Technology savvy11.Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as In Design, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop)
A keen eye for aesthetics and details
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines.
