Overall Job Function
Reporting to the Key Populations Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for the delivery of clinical services at the Key Populations Drop-in Centre and the community.
Key Responsibilities
Screening and treatment for STI to clients in a Key Populations friendly environment
Ensure family planning services are offered to Key Populations
Ensure promotion, demonstration of correct use, and distribution of condoms
Provide Post Exposure Prophylaxis for rape survivors
Ensure HIV positive Key Populations are enrolled in care and treatment and follow up on treatment outcomes
Ensure facilitation of health education sessions on various topics to Key populations
Ensure provision or referral of KPs for risk assessment and risk reduction counseling
Ensure functional Intra and inter-facility/community referral system for KP services that are not available within the DICE or during outreaches
Collect client data and store it appropriately
Person Specification
Diploma in Clinical Medicine & Surgery from a recognised medical training institution
Be registered with the clinical officers’ council with a valid practicing license
At least 2 year’s experience working with Key populations
Certificate in HIV management and skills in cervical cancer screening is an added advantage
Ability to provide services in a friendly and non-judgmental attitude
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with proven team player attributes
Computer literacy in the use of MS Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is desired
Ability to work and deliver results with minimum supervision.
