A Bit About The Role
As their Chief Product Officer, you’ll come equipped and ready to take full ownership of the formulation and execution of the entire product strategy. The business has spent some time defining where they want to be over the next 3 years and it’ll be up to you to define the product delivery path, document and execute on the same. Reporting directly to the CEO, their CPO will come with rich experience working in India as a market whilst having product development experience in real-time payments. Key to success in this role will be building the product function from scratch, this includes – product governance, product implementation, product lifecycle ownership and undertaking and managing product development. Essentially, you’ll be hands-on and have your sleeves rolled up, ready to get the job done with the support of several functions and relevant service providers.

Be the products and innovation thought leader to propel the company to a Pan-African success story
Further developing and executing on the product strategy the business has envisioned
Working with the CEO and cross functional teams to define the product roadmap
Implementing the company’s product governance model
Managing the product life-cycles end-to-end, that would include delivery, definition, design, build, go-to-market, training and communication and launch.
Overseeing product performance using your eye for ‘data’, to make objective data-driven and intuitive decisions and recommending and leading necessary interventions
Working with the CEO to structure the product team and recruiting as and when required
Owing the responsibility for the ‘why’ of the product and what to build next, then aligning the business around their vision
Ensure that the company’s products are line with business objectives and make adjustments when necessary
Use quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate whether products or specific features have reached market fit
A Bit About You
Proven experience working in the Indian market
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or the equivalent
Experience working with real–time-payments platforms, solutions and products
A visionary with a track record in execution
Excellent leadership skills, an ability to control the narrative in a positive manner
Knowledge and love for the ‘start-up’ environment
Great communication skills, allowing the CPO to successfully collaborate in the product management sphere
Product analytical skills, understanding the product and its uses
Persuasive in nature with an ability to influence cross functional teams
Customer engagement skills – listening to them, understanding them, and improving the customer experience
Decision making skills
Data-driven reporting skills – including analytics, measurement, analysis, tracking and more
Keen eye for detail
