Key Responsibilities
Work with the Hospital teams to coordinate care and provide physician support as required.
Ensure timely physician reviews (consultations) to patients requiring physician review.
Review critically ill patients in the hospital’s critical care units
Liaise with the Medical and Nursing Service Managers to address concerns regarding nursing care, doctors’ concerns, and other pertinent issues.
Address the concerns of the next of kin and other stakeholders.
Prepare medical reports of patients under physician care.
Engage in teaching and mentorship activities of fellow doctors in the units.
Support medical education as part of continuing professional development services within the
department and institution.
Provide physician advisory support to the doctors in other Avenue units.
Run Physician clinics at the hospital.
Lead the groups’ clinical response in the event of medical crises
Person Specification
Holder of a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery
Master’s Degree in Internal Medicine
A valid KMPDB license
Updated BLS, ACLS/ATLS certificate
Experience as a physician will be an added advantage
Specialist recognition
A valid KMPDB license
