Business Analyst

Job Purpose
To develop analysis and reporting capabilities that turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions. The role also includes monitoring performance, interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques, providing ongoing reports, and identifying new process improvement opportunities.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in the Bank’s strategy development, monitoring and reporting on strategy implementation.
Coordinate the implementation of the segmentation strategy on behalf of the business units.
Prepare Business Development (BD) Units’ budgets and allocate to branches, business units, & BD teams.
Assist in the annual preparation of CAPEX & OPEX budgets.
Monitor bank, business units, & BD teams’ performance on liabilities, assets, NFI, Trade finance, forex, & PPC, and trend analysis of various KPIs.
Preparation of high level presentations for Senior Management, Board.
Measure and analyze new business per branch, and Relationship Manager.
Research and share insights into the banking industry developments and financial performance with business units.
Prioritize and follow up on key operational issues addressed to the Deputy CEO
Development of standard reporting templates
Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
Provides analytic support by coordinating data extraction from various databases and data interpretation.
Develop and implement strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
Required Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

Qualifications

BSc in Mathematics, Economics, Mathematics & Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics.

Experience

5 Years working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst

Personal Attributes

Knowledge of statistics and experience in the use of statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, VBA, SPSS, SAS etc.)
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Technical expertise regarding data models, data mining and segmentation techniques.
Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
Knowledge of Microsoft BI will be an added advantage
