Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned operations professional to provide skilled and experienced leadership across the business to mature our ability to successfully achieve performance targets and execute projects.
This role will report to the Chief Operating Officer as a broad capability resource that can ensure delivery of strategic improvements to the business by offering excellence in tactical execution of strategic projects while also owning certain critical operations functions. Those operational functions are S&OP, Corrective Action System, Issues, Escalation System, Risk Management and Project Management.
You’ll be expected to:
Using our current KPIs as a starting point work with process SMEs to calculate and implement KPI targets for all departments that are based on quantitative reasoning and ensure our Service Level Agreements are matched to the KPIs.
Perform an assessment of whether the KPIs we currently have are the most appropriate
Serve as an operational leader and coordinator in resolving major customer issues
Implement a foundational Corrective Action program with tracking including a standard process with tradition quality stages (containment, investigation, root cause determined, corrective action proposed / approved
Implement a Corrective Action Board to assign CARs to single functions for investigation and
Implement a quarterly risk register program mitigate major risks with task ownership and accountability – focus is on growth
Institute a structured S&OP process and have documented plans to address constraints identified at least 6 months in advance
Create a prioritized escalation system with problem tracking that can be flowed through and integrated all necessary functions (sales, customer support, production, supply chain, etc..) so that where needed other functions can escalate key immediate needs. the result being every day we quickly know what major issues are open and still need resolution
We have a standard project management capability to keep organized and ensure successful execution of critical projects
You will also be deployed as a project manager to own various strategic (company critical) projects as needed but within your capacity to support
Summary of daily/weekly/monthly responsibilities:
Facilitate, ensure the success of and report out on strategic projects
Establish an engineering project management function that creates visibility in to and
Establish new capabilities across functions necessary to mature the capability of the business
Role model exceptional leadership through listening, collaboration, teaching, an open mind and insightful problem solving
Serve as the point of contact for critical customer issues and see issues through to resolution earning customer appreciation and respect
Develop, Facilitate, and maintain and foundational S&OP program
Develop, Facilitate, and maintain an escalation system with problem tracking to
Lead our bi-weekly KPI and OKR meetings. Work with KPI & OKR owners to establish how to roll model always bringing a completed investigation with an improvement plan to the meeting
Use a RAIL and escalation system to create accountability to KPI & OKR execution. Including establishing an escalation system for persistent failure to meet targets
Requirements
Comfort and proficiency working with and reporting out to executives
Profound customer communicate skills
Advanced project management skills including soft skills needed to collaborate with cross functional stakeholders
Comfortable and knowledgeable of various contemporary professional solutions so that you can utilize them when identify solutions
Advanced excel skills specifically including charting and analytics
Proficient understanding and familiarity with how S&OP is implemented and what its goals are
Ability to understand and collaborate with engineers
