Debt Manager

Key Responsibilities and Duties:-

Maintain acceptable DSO through timely collection of outstanding debt;
Maintain accurate and updated customer statements of accounts through regular reconciliations;
Work with the commercial team, legal office and external debt collectors to recover overdue debts;
Periodic update of credit scoring models for risk assessment and evaluation of creditworthiness of potential customers.
Champion continuous improvement and automation of debt management processes.
Timely response to and satisfactory resolution of customer queries on debt status;
Convene and chair weekly debt review meetings with the commercial team;
Lead a team of debt collection executives and external debt collectors;
Enforcement of the company’s credit control policy and monitoring adherence to internal controls to detect any non-compliance;
Continuously strengthen internal controls in debt management;
Consistently build and maintain good relations with customers;
Positively contribute to company cash flow targets.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills: –

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or its equivalent from a recognised institution;
CPA(K) or ACCA Certification;
Certification in Credit Management (desirable);
At least seven years of Finance/Accounting experience with three in debt management/ credit control; Strong network across all business sectors; Excellent communication skills; Excellent interpersonal skills; Excellent analytical skills; Ability to meet strict deadlines; A team player with a collaboration mindset.
